On April 20, 2010 there was an explosion on BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.The explosion killed 11 platform workers and injured 17 others. Oil gushed out at catastrophic amounts from the well head and is still not completely contained after 100 days.  The result is the largest oil spill in U.S. history and bound to seriously negatively affect the coastline’s wildlife and wetlands thru out the Gulf for many years to come.

     We felt a need to do something to help but were not sure how or what to do. After thinking about it, we decided to start a business. We chose to make t-shirts and send proceeds from the sales to a nonprofit organization helping with the clean up. And that’s how Yankee Doodulz was born.   

       Since we are a new company and dedicated solely to helping, we have chosen other non profits that we could benefit as well.  Presently we are also addressing two other organizations.  One is for returning Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan and the other is for a local cause in the Hudson Valley in New York known as Bannerman’s Castle.  We will be adding more as we grow and are open to suggestions. Our T-shirts are designed by us and made of 100% pre shrunk cotton and produced locally in the Hudson Valley and part of the proceeds from the sale of each t-shirt we will be making a donation to the non-profit organization that the t-shirt is associated with.
